After spending 2 Days with Carnegie, he gave Napoleon a proposition in which he only had 1 minute on a stop watch to respond. He asked him if he would be willing to spend 20 years gathering information from some of the most wealthy people of that era, but having no compensation from Carnegie whatsoever except for travel. It only took Napoleon 22 seconds to Respond and say yes.
He also said this to Carnegie “Andrew Carnegie, I’m not only going to equal your achievements in life, but I’m going to challenge you at the post and pass you at the grandstand.”
